How do I uninstall SQL 2005 after SQL 2008 R2 In-Place Upgrade

Hi,

I did in-place upgrade (SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 R2) recently and I forgot the remove SQL 2005. The system is up and running for a while. Will it be an issue if I remove SQL 2005 now.
