Good Day everyone.
We have a slew of standalone SQL machines, but this is the first time we're going to cluster sql (per the vendors commendation), so i have a few questions.
We have a new vendor that will need us to provision ~10 servers. Most are different app servers, but 2 will be the SQL cluster. I plan on buying 2 beefy servers and Hyper-V pretty much everything. Something like this:
server1: 4 or 5 app servers and SQL cluster member1
server2: 4 or 5 app servers and SQL cluster member 2
In addition to the 2 servers, i plan on buying a dell MDxxx SAS JBOD array (and config raid-10) for the sql cluster shared storage and expose it to the SQL cluster guest VMs.
So, to the questions.
Does this seem like a good approach - i believe i read that SQL cluster members can be hyper-v guest machines?
Never done it before, but i assume i can expose a directly connected SAS enclosure to guest OS for both sql cluster members?
Thanks,
Danny
